Embry Riddle Admissions Essay Format

All documents — including transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores, and financial affidavits — must be originals or notarized copies. In addition, notarized or attested English translations of foreign transcripts are required. Facsimiles (fax) or photocopies are not acceptable.

Please note that all materials submitted become the property of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and cannot be reproduced, returned, or forwarded.

If you have attending high school or a university within the United States, official transcripts must be sent directly from the school to Embry-Riddle.

All International undergraduate and graduate applicants who have any educational experience outside the United States are required to provide an official course-by-course evaluation in English, including the cumulative grade-point average (GPA).

The evaluation must be certified by World Education Services (WES), a Foreign Credential Evaluation Services (FCE) approved by Embry-Riddle. A fee is charged for the evaluation service and must be paid by the applicant directly to the FCE.

Graduate Admission Checklist

All applicants must submit the following items to the Graduate Admissions Office prior to the application deadline:

Application and Application Fee

All applicants must complete an online application and submit a $50 non-refundable fee in U.S. funds.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts sent directly from all colleges and universities attended (bachelor’s degree is required) Official transcripts of any graduate courses attempted.

Note:For any graduate transfer credit to be considered, the applicant must submit catalogs of institution attended, with course descriptions clearly marked to indicate the courses to be reviewed.

Statement of Objectives

The statement of objectives is an important part of your application. You should give your reasons for wishing to do graduate work in the field you have chosen, incorporating your interests, your background, and your long-term professional goals.

Letters of Recommendation

Three Endorser’s Recommendations — two academic and one professional. The letter of recommendation form can be found here. Students are only able to access the recommendation form if they have submitted an application online and created an ERNIE login.


A current résumé outlining your past educational and work experiences.


Official scores are required for consideration into specific programs. Request that Educational Testing Service (ETS) send your GMAT or GRE scores, if applicable. Embry-Riddle's school code is 5190.

Institutional Scholarships

Students must submit official GRE or GMAT scores to be considered for a scholarship. However, there is no guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded if you meet the criteria. We do not offer full scholarships; they are partial merit awards based on a student's grade point average and GRE scores.  We consider applicants for merit scholarships at the time of admission automatically.

Returning Student

A student whose attendance at the University is interrupted is required to apply for re-admission. You are considered a returning student if you have enrolled at another institution without prior written approval, fail to enroll in at least one Embry-Riddle course within a two calendar-year period, or have been suspended from the University.

When applying for readmission, returning students must email to determine what documents must be submitted in order to be considered for re-admission to a specific program.
